As a working photographer sometimes I forget to take the time to photograph my own life. And to be completely honest with y’all sometimes I just don’t feel like our life really measures up to what you can see online. Our house can be messy, our kids live… I mean LIVE in every corner of our home. We have no housekeeper, window washer, laundress or cook to help out around the house. So when sometimes I see images from other photographers sometimes I can get down on myself a little. But you know what that is the stupidest thing ever. So this year I have vowed to take more images of us… being us… with our stuff around. No we don’t have the ‘help’ that maybe some others do. But this is our life and it is pretty darn special to us! Plus, it helps teaching your own kids how to cook and do laundry before they leave for college.

I know that by the end of the year I will get better with my lifestyle photography and have a glorious set of images from our lives. So today I wanted to share some of my January favorites from around the house.

So my tip this thursday… take them images! Get down on different levels and try to see your beautiful home from your kiddos perspective!
