Lifestyle and documentary photography sessions have become quite normal and everyday nowadays. Making pictures of life events can tell a story that touches us on a deep level. Making Pictures in the quiet morning hours is sometimes just perfect. I love documenting our days but in Dallas there isn’t too much scenic adventures to document. Which just makes trips to beautiful places even more special. But… BUT. That does not make documenting your everyday any less important or beautiful. I make pictures of newborns and children and families often. I love stopping time and moments for families. I know that sounds cliche but it’s true. So this year I started a photo a day for a month project. I am on month 3 right now… so I think I can officially call it a 365 project. I am afraid if I call it that then I will not get it done because of its enormous task.
A few weeks ago I caught a very quiet Saturday morning at the house. The light was filling in through the window and the silence was just so wonderful. My Fi woke up and started coloring with her chalk and I asked her if I could take her pictures. Now in the spirit of truth in photography, this would be considered lifestyle… because I moved the chalk board from the corner to in front of the window. But I think it was worth it.
