A few months ago, maybe two or three I can’t remember, Sophie wandered into the living room while Scott and I were watching Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. At first I was very hesitant to let her watch it… I mean she is only 5! She went back to the playroom but kept coming back and coming back until she just sat in our lap and watched the movie. She was in love! Immediately she asked to watch more. So we started watching the movies on movie night. We have only finished 1-5 (she is already asking about 6 and 7).

When it came time to choose our Halloween costumes she unwaveringly said she wanted to be Hermione.
.
I asked if she was sure, she said yes. I asked if she wanted to be a princess or monster high girl or the awesome green witch from Oz (she is really into movies)? The answer was very matter of fact, no. She wanted to be Hermione.
I keep being reminded that she has her own mind and isn’t afraid of her opinions/ likes/ choices/ thoughts. I love that about her.
.
On the day that her robe came in the mail I asked her why she wanted to be Hermione.
“She is awesome and tough!”
.
That is right my dear little girl. I am so very proud of you for choosing such a great character to be on Halloween!

(also I had a little fun with the last image, she said she wants it hanging in her room)
