This post is geared towards all of you photographers out there. Make it Work!! In newborn photography there are so many cute-sie props to buy or hats to get or props that you just have to have. In the Dallas area alone there are multiple newborn vendors that sell the most beautiful newborn props.
.
But you know what… you can make it work. I have always found it a little bit fun and exciting to MacGyver it around. To use to tools around you and make something beautiful.
So today that is what I am going to show you.
.
This demo is about a little fleece blanket. It isn’t really special but it does have a beautiful color. I decided that I wanted to see what it looked like if I used this inexpensive blanket as a newborn blanket.
And anyone out there shooting newborn photography knows the traps that you can get into buying all the beautiful, expensive blankets around. Let’s see what we can do with a blanket that cost less than a drive-thru lunch.
.
.
So here is what I did. (after taking iphone photos of the blanket)
.
Step 1) Purchase the blanket
Step 2) Wash the blanket
Step 3) Use the blanket
.
.
And for the finished product…

.
And sometimes what you get… is magic 🙂
.
(All I added to this photo was a beautiful scarf I found on clearance after Christmas!)
