This last Friday Jack had a field trip. It was a hiking field trip and so young siblings were discouraged to come along. When we talked about who would then go on the field trip, Jack said quietly that he wouldn’t mind if Dad went. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit sad. But then he said that Dad hasn’t gotten to go on many field trips. That is so very true and I can’t argue that. I am so glad that Jack has both of us to go with him on field trips. He also said he’d take along his camera so I could see what all they did.

So while the guys went of their field trip I decided to make it a Sophie Day. I have been pretty busy lately and haven’t had enough time for her. Even typing that out makes me feel like a bad parent. She knew we were going shopping and out for yogurt. That is our thing. So we went on the hunt for some summer swim suits for her. And I broke the news to her that we weren’t going to Yogurtland (so far our favorite yogurt shop). I love keeping little surprises for her. Her excitement seems to build and build so much so that it fills the air.
.
When I told her that we were going to Sweet Frog she laughed. Then asked if we were going to each frogs 🙂
.
But the first moment we went in she declared it her favorite yogurt shop EVER. I think it had something to do with the tv on the wall.

I told her we needed to finish up our yogurt because we had another stop. We went down the road to the splash park. Apparently a school was visiting also. If I judge correctly it must have been 5th or 6th graders (a great group also! they were very aware of the little kids). She had her barbie, found some nice little girls to play with and had a blast.
.
I think I had forgotten how much fun it is to just sit back and watch her play. In a few short months she will be going to kindergarten and we won’t have the special times together. I can’t believe how fast this little girl is growing up.
