The Most Photographed Generation
You are the most photographed generation.
This is a fact. Everywhere you turn someone is taking a photograph of something. Whether it is instead of taking notes or sending a quick message to a friend, photography is everywhere around us. But what about actually documenting your life? That is what I am doing. Throughout my kids lives I have taken pictures, like all other parents. We photograph the first moments of life, the first steps, the first birthdays, the bumps and bruises, the birthday parties, the first days of school, and the last days of school. My favorite time is documenting those in between moments. I was talking with a young girl recently who wanted to get into the photography world. And she asked what my advice for getting in there was… Well, take your camera everywhere and document everything. Don’t be shy about it. Take it to Target and Whataburger and Dance Class and on your sons very first drive after he got his drivers permit.
Have your camera become second nature to carry around with you like your keys and your id. Bring it. But not only bring it, use it. Of course this goes along with learn how to use it but this is the best way to learn how to use it. Make a point to photograph something everyday. It doesn’t matter if it is a good photograph, it doesn’t matter if it is of a piece of paper or a flower outside. Make a point to document something everyday.
And so this is me, Kristy. I am documenting this year in it’s whole, fun, busy, all consuming ways. My children are older. My oldest is in his first year of high school. I could embarrass him with the photographs but luckily he is used to me taking a quick photograph. And I have learned to be discreet about it. But I still do it. And I am so glad I have. Here is a little glimpse into our beginning of 2019 and the days since.

Kristina McCaleb Photography is a Dallas based newborn and childrens photographer. I specialize in newborn, child, and family and tween photography. I am based in Dallas, Texas but during the summer we travel around the country. My 2019 travel plans include California, Oregon, and Utah. While on the road my favorite past time is stopping at quirky spots along the way. Some of my favorite stops have been the middle of the United States, the southern most point of the US. And of course the largest ball of twine. For more information please contact me so we can start discussing your session.
