Bringing a new baby into the world is an incredible, emotional, and let’s be real—a totally exhausting experience. Between the late-night feedings and adjusting to this whole new life, the thought of getting dressed, leaving the house, and posing for photos might feel like a lot. I get it! But your newborn session doesn’t have to be stressful. It should be the complete opposite—a relaxed, sweet experience where you get to soak in all the newborn goodness while I handle the rest.
Here’s how we’ll make it easy and stress-free.
1. Timing & Comfort Matter
The best time for those dreamy, curled-up newborn photos? 7-14 days after birth. During this time, babies are extra sleepy and flexible, making it easier to get those snuggly poses. That said—don’t panic if you’ve missed that window! We’ll create beautiful images at any age.
A cozy baby is a happy baby, so I keep my studio warm and snuggly. Warmth helps babies settle, making everything smoother.
Pro Tip: Book your newborn session during your second or third trimester so we can plan around your due date.

2. Feed Baby Before the Session
A full belly = a happy, sleepy baby. Try to feed your baby right before the session so they’re content and relaxed. If you’re bottle-feeding, bring extra just in case. If you’re nursing, feel free to feed as needed—there’s absolutely no rush, and we’ll take breaks when needed.
Pro Tip: Even if your baby doesn’t usually take one, having a pacifier handy can be a lifesaver for soothing between poses.

3. Keep the ideas Simple
For baby, less is more. I have all the soft, cozy wraps and tiny accessories you could need, so no need to stress over outfits. But if you have a sentimental piece, bring it along! Just make sure it fits well—baggy clothes tend to overwhelm tiny newborns in photos.
For parents and siblings, stick to soft, neutral tones—creams, grays, pastels. These colors photograph beautifully and keep the focus on baby. Avoid loud patterns or bright colors that might distract from the moment.
Pro Tip: New moms, I know you might not feel like getting in front of the camera right now—but trust me, you’ll want these photos. I’ll pose you in ways that feel natural and flattering.
4. Relax & Enjoy the Moment
Babies are unpredictable. They might be fussy, need extra feedings, or take some time to settle—and that’s totally okay. I’ve worked with lots of newborns, and we’ll go at your baby’s pace. There’s no rush—just a calm, relaxed environment where we capture all the sweetest little details.
Tiny fingers, baby sounds, little stretches—these moments go by in a blink. I’ll take care of capturing them so you can soak in every moment with your little one.
Pro Tip: Babies pick up on your energy! The more relaxed you are, the calmer they’ll be. Take a deep breath—I’ve got you.
