What it takes to succeed at a 365

What it Takes to Succeed at a 365

or at least to make it a month during a 365

So I started my actual 365 in August but relaunched it in January because, you know start of the year new beginnings blah blah. You know the drill. Do you know what it takes to succeed at a 365? It takes patience and understanding. Pretty much that is all. Just kidding. It takes a lot more. So here you go, here are three rules to help you succeed at a 365.

1. Make SMALL goals

like you are going to take one picture a day for a month. A month seems so much easier to shoot than a year right? So start with one day. Then another day, then a week. And then you will be at a month in no time. Just make your goals small to begin your 365 project.

2. Choose your own Rules

When I first started my rules were I can use any image with a DSLR. It could be client images or personal images. Now I have changed it. Now my 365 has to be personal images. But y’all that doesn’t mean they are good images. Y’all I took a picture of my twice baked potato one day. Seriously. And it wasn’t even creative. But it fit my rules. And if you follow me on instagram you know that today I took an image of my sons foot. His big ole 13 year old foot. Weird right? But again it is my rules. While I was away at Imaging, I took a photo out of the window of the hotel and an image of water in the shower. Y’all not my best work ever. But y’all, some of the others I just love!

3. Give yourself Grace

Don’t be too hard on yourself during your 365. Take photos of potatoes. Take photos of your kids feet. Take photos of whatever makes you happy. And some days you are going to have to take photos just to get that darn photo. I started to take some in the mornings just to get it out of the way if I know it will be a busy day. It’s ok. You deserve a little grace. So here is my January y’all. It was so worth it. I am already looking forward to February.
